Mother Earth News Fair is Coming to West Bend, Wisconsin + Weekend Passes Giveaway

Disclaimer: I was provided weekend passes and a media pass in exchange for coverage of the Mother Earth News Fair event in West Bend, Wisconsin. Weekend passes were also provided free of charge for this giveaway. All opinions expressed below are 100% mine and mine alone unless otherwise stated. Please do your own research on a product or service as your results may vary.

My parents recently within the last several years have become very interested in homesteading and have slowly instilled that interest in my sister and I throughout those years as well. There's just something about being self sufficient that gives you a sense of pride and purpose.

We've been apart of organic food co-ops, I've helped can things like chicken and venison, carrots, and green beans, my family and I have become very good friends with several local farmers and have volunteered and worked on several farms helping them with things they need to get done like when we helped build a hoop house. We've even run around with some cute and furry kids and watched them grow.

So when the Mother Earth News Fair, known for it's organic and healthy, sustainable, homesteading and family-friendly sponsors, classes, and speakers, comes to town you can safely bet we'll be there soaking it all up!

If you're not familiar with Mother Earth News, it's the most popular and longest-running sustainable lifestyle magazine that covers a wide range of healthy living and homesteading lifestyle topics from things like organic gardening and foods to green and sustainable and country living, tending livestock, aromatherapy and herbs, and so much more!

We've been subscribing to their magazine for years; in fact every Christmas or Father's Day I always renew my dad's subscription because this magazine brings my parents so much joy and a way to connect over their shared interest.

Sound like something you'd be interested in? I highly suggest trying to make it to one of the 3 fairs left happening this year.

Now let's talk West Bend, Wisconsin.

Mother Earth News Fair is coming to the Washington Country Fair Park in West Bend, Wisconsin on Saturday, July 9th and Sunday, July 10th and my family and I are going to be there!

My parents were able to go to this fair last year and had nothing but rave things to say about how it was put together, the workshops they participated in, the speakers they heard, the vendors they got to talk with...

With 150 hands-on workshops that cover a wide variety of topics like organic gardening, food preparation and preservation, natural health, renewable energy and more including several kid-friendly workshops like soap making, building with sticks and mud, kombucha tasting and bacteria "petting zoo," there really is something for everyone regardless of age or interest!

Go through and see all the workshops that are offered along with descriptions and bios on the teachers over the two day span on their Workshops Page.

Not only can you keep yourself busy with the workshops and speakers but there are hundreds of exhibitors to visit throughout the two days, as well as vendor and livestock demonstrations, and even local sourced and organic food options.

Being family-friendly, the fair also will be hosting children's activities to keep the little ones interacting with the experience and entertained!

Make sure to see the long list of exhibitors and what they have to offer on the Exhibitors Page.

Have I piqued your interest yet? Oh my gosh! Any of the workshops by Shawna Cornado, Linda Conroy or Dawn Combs look amazing. After just being diagnosed with Psoriatic Arthritis on top of my fibro I am super interested in creating my backyard into a therapeutic wonderland. I have been researching herbs that will help arthritis and the workshop would be fantastic to attend.

This really sounds like it is in my wheelhouse! 150+ hands on workshops! How does one even fit everything they want to do in? I can't make it this year but I'm going to look into planning it on a route next year.

This looks like it would be so much fun! I'd love to bring the whole family with for the weekend! Those leather-bound journals are gorgeous, and we're all getting into daily writing so I'd love to get one that has a story of its own.

What a super fun fair. I sure wish I lived in the area. It seems like it will be old time fun with a modern day view to food.

This looks like so much fun and not to mention informative! I like visiting their website often. I'm marking the dates for the Kansas fair on my calendar as that location is close to me!

Looks like an amazing fair. I would love to go wander. If only I lived closer!

Seems like a lot of fun! Those leather journals are beautiful - I've seen similar styles in my local bookstore but not quite as original as the ones you found.

I've heard of Mother Earth News but had no idea they had a fair. It sounds fantastic. I'd love to check it out. I'll have to check out their site and see if they're coming to a location near me.

Oh my.... I can't tell you how much I wish wish Mother Earth News hosted a fair in my area. We went to a huge local fair but all the vendors were pushy with products like hot tubs and beer. We walked past more than one person with their head in a trash can. Yikes! Not our thing but we did have fun with family.

I would like to attend the Waste Reduction in the Home because I try to do this anyway. This could probably do it better.

Oh, Goodness! I have been wanting to go to one of these fairs for a while now and wouldn't you know, but it is in my home town! I can't wait to meet Eliot Coleman for his season extension talk. I fashioned part of my Masters research using his techniques and testing if there are flavor differences between carrots stored in a cooler and those harvested through the winter. How exciting to hear the man I have been reading about for so long!

Oops! This was more than three sentences.... sure hope that is all right!
