My Life with Chronic Pain & The Fay Farm Organic Warming CBD Muscle Rub

I hate to brag, but pain management is somewhat of a specialty of mine. Well, maybe not so much a "specialty" as a forced hobby. Being chronically ill and having chronic pain go hand-in-hand and with 12+ years of being in various amounts of daily pain, you try anything and everything that comes along just for a little relief or reprieve.

Of course there are the Western medications and therapies that are the go-to for pain management here in the United States but I've tried most of them and I either have adverse reactions or they're not good for my condition(s) which is why I try to use the 80/20 rule: 80% alternative treatments and therapies and 20% Western medications and treatments.

According to the Institute of Medicine of The National Academies nearly 110 million Americans suffer from chronic pain and the annual economic cost associated with chronic pain is estimated to be $560 to $635 billion* so I know I'm not alone in my journey to find relief!

Here are some of the things I've tried over the past 12+ years since I became chronically ill:

  • Hyperberic Oxygen Therapy
  • Massage therapy
  • Colonics
  • Homeopathy
  • Infrared sauna
  • Herbs and tinctures
  • Medical intuitive
  • Western pain medications (Fentanyl, Vicodin, Ultram, Diladid, etc)
  • Reflexology
  • Pain Management
  • Exercise
  • Clean eating
  • Acupuncture

And those are the things I remember off the top of my head!

One thing I have yet to try and is still very controversial in my state of Illinois (and the whole country for that matter) is medical marijuana and CBD oil as a form of pain management and treatment. I've heard fantastic things from people who have experience with these therapies and have wanted to give it a try for quite awhile.

I've tried a few different salves and pastes in the past to try to help manage my muscle and joint pain but thanks to The Fay Farm, I finally get to try a healing muscle rub that contains 50mcg of CBD oil!

For those who aren't versed, cannabidiol, or CBD oil, is 1 of 60 compounds found in the cannabis plant. Not to be confused with THC which is what causes the psychoactive high and is also one out of the two most common compounds found in the plant, CBD oil has a wide range of medical benefits including reducing nausea, combating anxiety and depression, combating tumor and cancer cell growth, and of course combating inflammatory disorders.

Sadly CBD oil is still illegal despite all the evidence supporting its medicinal properties in most of the United States and parts of the world. Thankfully The Fay Farm's Warming CBD Muscle Rub is still classified as legal.

How?

There are two forms of CBD oil: one deriving from the (illegal) cannabis plant and one deriving from the (legal) hemp plant. The CBD oil used in this particular warming muscle rub is derived from the hemp plant so it's completely 100% legal in all 50 states!

I've been applying this rub once a day everyday for the past several weeks on both my knees as just a jumping off point to see what it would do. My knees are a constant source of pain, especially these days now that I was forced off the Fentanyl patch. I will freely admit I wish the warming sensation was a little more substantial and noticeable when applying, but I absolutely love the scent of the muscle rub and it's consistency is very pleasant. I even find myself randomly opening up the tin and taking a big inhale every now and again just because I can.

I've also just recently taken to spreading some of the muscle rub on my lower pelvic area because I've been having excruciating pain that has had me laid up for the past 2 weeks.

Truthfully I can't seem to tell a noticeable difference in my knee pain since starting the rub but I know with alternative and natural therapies like this, it takes quite awhile of applying and re-applying daily to see results. I still love applying it and since it's now a habit I don't plan on stopping anytime soon and thankfully with the 1.5 oz tin, it'll be a long time before I have to!

One of my favorite things about this rub, aside from the wonderful aroma every time I open up the tin and the probability of pain relief of course, is the ingredient list on the back. You actually know and can pronounce everything in this rub and it's ALL natural and organic. Just read all the ingredients in the above picture and tell me I'm wrong; I dare you!

The CBD warming muscle rub comes in 3 different purchase options: a 0.5 oz tin which is $15, a 1.5 oz tin which is $30, and a 3.0 oz tin which is $55. Not only that, but they also offer a CBD salve and a CBD healing lotion so there are plenty of options at a variety of price ranges.

The generous folks at The Fay Farm have offered 10% off for those The Eclectic Element readers who want to give this great organic muscle rub a try! When placing your order, in the 'additional comments' section just type in the code ECLECTIC

Plus they have offered FREE shipping within the US with the code as well so how can you go wrong?

You know what gets my goat? There are so many legal opiates yet many don't help. Many people find relief with cannabis and it remains illegal in most of the country. If the damn substance provides relief offer it! Good heavens. It's ridiculous. I'm sorry you are suffering. It's just not right

Hmmm, I never knew the benefits of cannibis could be felt from a hemp derivative that is classified as 'legal'. It really is a shame that people who could truly be benefiting from alternative treatments are hung up by the bureaucrats. this salve definitely looks like something I might want to try for my deep tissue pain!

I understand how hard it is living with chronic pain. I have been suffering for 10 years myself. My husband also suffers for 12 years now and I will be checking out this rub as he has a lot of musko-skeletal pain. It is crazy also what is legal and what is not. I hope you can get some relief.

My mother suffers from chronic pain. This is something I may have to look into and see if she will benefit from it.

Move to Michigan. I think it's legal here (medically anyway). I am sorry for your chronic pain. Having suffered with chronic pain for seven years I know it just occupies your every thought. I hope this oil or something soon helps you out!

Shelley is correct, medical marijuana is legal here in Michigan, I believe. I dated a guy for a few weeks who had a license for an old injury, I think.

I've never tried something like that but if it helps you then go for it :).
