Exercise and staying fit are things that I find are a necessity in my life and when I can't fulfill those two very important needs daily, I feel kind of lost. This holds true especially when my poor health interferes and I can't exercise, or even walk without a walker for that matter, for days, weeks, or months at a time.
Case in point, It's been a year and a half since I got to enjoy my passion that is pole fitness and just as long since I was able to enjoy a nice relaxing, yet challenging, yoga practice.

Another obstacle that coincides with my poor health is that infamous lady's "special" time of the month. I'm sure many of you can agree that, not only is it NOT so special, but when it hits all you want to do is eat anything and everything in sight and sleep like a bear during hibernation.
No? Just me?
Well regardless, we can all agree on one thing: exercise is one of the last things on our minds during that time! Did you know, however, that exercising during our periods can actually help alleviate many of the signs and symptoms that are associated with that time of the month like cramps, bloating, mood swings, and even depression?
Thankfully Stayfree is here to help us ladies get a jump on feeling better during those dreadful days with their line of feminine products that will aid in keeping us feeling fresh and worry-free, especially if we so choose to start exercising.
To help YOU stay calm, cool, & connected while you're working on betting yourself inside and out, even during those dreadful I-don't-want-to-move days, Stayfree, My Yoga, & Gaiam TV have all partnered together to bring you a fantastic opportunity!
Between January 8th and March 12th of this years all you need to do is buy any Stayfree product online or at participating stores, scan your store receipt, and upload an image of it to http://myyoga.stayfree.com/.
Do that and you'll receive a FREE 30-day membership to My Yoga on Gaiam TV which is choked full of all kinds of informative yoga videos from beginning yoga to yoga for relaxation all the way to restorative yoga, yoga for the chakras, toning your body yoga, and so much more!
Getting free yoga for buying something we pretty much already need on a monthly basis? Yes PLEASE!
I had a chance to look through many of the videos offered and I can't choose just one favorite! There is literally something for everyone and I will definitely admit that I want to try them all for different reasons; I need to work on my flexibility since being in bed and inactive diminished most of mine. If health would permit I'd love to start working on toning certain parts of my body because I have gained 20 to 30 lbs over the past year or so. I could also stand to learn how to relax a little more so some restorative and slow flow yoga would be nice, too!

Have YOU tried yoga before?
If not what's your exercise of choice?

What a great incentive- I love yoga but am still quite a novice. This could be just the inspiration I need to get back in and find my inner chi.
The last time I tried yoga I do not think you were upon this Earth. What does THAT tell you. Now I do not think I could bend appropriately. I do agree though that exercise during one's period does help you feel better. At least it did me when I still had one.
Thankfully, I don't have to worry about "that time" of the month anymore, since my hysterectomy at the age of 40. I still have to worry with getting the munchies from time to time due to hormone stress. The only thing that keeps me from turning into a beached whale is my daily exercise regiment.
The closest I've ever got to yoga is Pilates. At the time I enjoyed it, but I prefer more active workouts. One day, I may find myself needing to take things slower and easier. For now, I'm really enjoying my elliptical trainer DH got me last summer.
Good review, Kayla! ;)
Totally agree with you that exercise helps alleviate the nasty symptoms that go along with that time of the month. I'm mostly a runner and yoga helps keep my muscles loose for that as well. The Gaiam site is amazing!
I used to love yoga. It's so relaxing and it makes you feel great
I love this! I've tried yoga before, and there's no way I'm doing it again in public! O_O
I don't have NEARLY the flexibility required to do yoga. I'm a walker.
I'm really getting into yoga! I'm a runner and definitely lacking flexibility. I'm hoping this will help me come back from my hamstring injury, and that I can stay injury free. This is a great deal!
That's an awesome deal to get 30 days free. It's especially great since I love Stayfree and use their products.
Yoga is a great way to relax! I love this free offer and I will be taking advantage of it.
I've tried yoga before and hurt my back trying to do something my body wasn't ready for, haha. I'm definitely willing to try again, but this time within my limitations.
I love yoga! My exercise of choice, however, is running!
I love yoga and I really want to watch some of these videos. I just bought a ton of pads on sale, so I'm off to find the receipt! :)
I haven't done yoga in ages. I am working so hard towards my black belt right now that I am almost always at the dojo and don't have time for anything else.
My wife and I talked about doing yoga together when I was still in the army and we were thousands of miles apart. Somehow we never found the time and now 5 years and 3 more kids later, I think it might be.
I would love to try Yoga. It looks like a great way to get flexible and gain some core strength.
I've not done yoga before. I'll have to check out that membership.
I'd love to start Yoga! Since Stayfree is my go-to brand for our monthly needs anyway, I will totally use this offer and have a peak into Yoga :)
Yoga on a bench in a park? You are my hero!

I've tried yoga before but it really wasn't my thing. For me, if I have to dedicate time to do it, it's not fun. My favourite activity is to walk with the family (and dogs). I walk at least 1.5 miles everyday and it doesn't even seem like work.
As for pads, I use a mixture of solutions but at the end of my period, I always use Stayfree.

P.S. Shorts in MARCH!? I'm coming to live with you. It's usually still around 0 (or 32 degrees farenhuit) in Ontario, Canada in March.
Besos Sarah.
