Will YOU Get Active? iTunes GC *Giveaway*

{Image Credit}

If you haven't already heard, I'm buckling down and slowly but surely getting off my big ol' duff and trying to become active again.

I say slowly but surely because after being beaten over and over again throughout the last 9+ years of chronic illness and whatever else life had to throw at me, this old gal's body (and I do mean old-some days I feel like a 23 year old trapped in a 90 year old's body) is quite deconditioned.

This is exactly why I want YOU (yes, you *points*) to take charge of your health now and become active with me. Regardless of why I became deconditioned, I don't want my friends and readers in the same boat as I have been; I want you to be vibrant, healthy and, most of all, happy!

I don't care what you do, just as long as you do something that involves a little physical activity everyday...

-Take a walk
-Do yoga
-Lift things
-Go to the gym
-Play with your kids
-Dance
-Walk the dog
-Stretch

It's better to become active and take charge of your health now than wait until it's too late later in life!

I'm really trying to workout and get back in shape. I hurt my knee several years ago and had just gotten it better and started exercising again, and hurt it again. But I know if I get active again and lose some of my weight it will help my knee. So I'm slowly but surely working out on my hubby's treadmill and working up to my walking videos and my Tae Bo workouts to get back in shape. At almost 58 I need to get this done. :)

i have to say now that the weather is warmer i'm trying to get out more and ride bikes, walk and when the pool is fixed I'll go back to swimming. I just wish I knew the secret weapon for getting results. I seem to be stuck right now as far s the scale is concerned

I have been trying to get in shape for our beach trip scheduled for July. Turning 50 last year has been tough. I have never really had to worry about my weight but the past 5 yrs or do I've noticed a change. Been walking, using our bowflex &/or elliptical more as well as working out with videos.

Today, 4-12, I walked 3 miles on about 50 minutes.

I just purchased my first pair of running shoes on Friday. I got Brooks Adrenaline. They are the most money I have ever spent for something for my feet! $109.99 ...I am starting the couch to 5k.

I walked with my dog for about 25 minutes. We kept stopping to sniff, but she had fun, and it got me moving

I just finished a 2 mile run

I have always loved to exercise, but there are certain things that help motivate me. New music and new workout clothes are a nice incentive. I feel better when I work out first thing in the morning!

Today I did the "Breathless Body...ultimate calorie burn" dvd. Great workout!

I enjoy doing the wii workouts and play station dance games to stay active. I have improved my hand - eye coordination. I recently learned that my local public library carries the games as well.

Today, I walked/ran for 3 miles. Then while watching an episode of the Office, I did some floor exercises for about 20 mins. Keep on keeping on!

I guess I was leaving my active comments in the wrong place. But I've walked on my treadmill today and the 13th. Plus I vacuumed my whole house on the 13th. I did the treadmill for 30 minutes each time. It took me about 30-45 minutes to vacuum the whole house.

I need to kick it up a notch if I really want to lose weight. I lost a few pounds so far doing The 30 Day Shred video. I'm looking forward to being more active in the Spring.

After a long illness that left me housebound, I am trying to be more active. All of the muscle I gained by working on my feet 8 hours a day has atrophied, and I'm not nearly as strong as I was before I became ill. I'm nowhere near healthy enough to begin actively exercising, but I find just walking up and down the stairs and puttering around the house is a good reintroduction of physical activity.

Katie Contests said...

I navigated my way through the hospital for well over 5 minutes today... I got lost lol

I stood in line and waited 1hour a s 30 minutes and I could of sat instead

I drink a lot of water. Having two three-year olds also helps with keeping me active #understatement.

One of the most important things to do is remember to stay hydrated! It helps so much when you have water in your system.

If you are trying to get active after not being active you should start slow by walking and drink lots of water. I have decreased my soda intake and walk more. I have started jumping rope and doing ab crunches

Olivia R said...

Was so tired this morning I couldn't workout and thought I would have to rush it Friday morning, but at 6:30pm I decided to go despite being tired. I did 2.2 miles

I'm so tired, but my dog wasn't so we took a walk. Now I am really tired and so is she. Glad the weather was nice to get her energy out

I try and get on the treadmill to stay active. It helps if I can listen to music and make the time go by faster.

I am trying to walk every afternoon for 30 to 45 minutes now that the weather is getting warmer. I love being outdoors!

sohamolina said...

I love my Jazzercise class. It's not the 80's routines. It's fresh and new with hot moves. I have been taking it for 4 years now and I feel strong.

sohamolina said...

I usually walk 3 times a week (M,T,F). I wish I could do it also on Sunday.

I ran today without any knee pain because I bought a knee strap for $16 at sports authority over the weekend. It was great.

I like to listen to upbeat music when I'm cleaning the house. It gets me moving faster and dancing. Definitely burn more calories that way than just walk around dusting!

Olivia R said...

I played outside with dog today. She got a new soccer ball for her b'day and we broke it in.

Terra H. said...

I need to get back into being more active. I was really into getting fit in January but have slacked off. Once the weather gets nicer I'm hoping to do more active things outside. Thanks.

I ran today. I switched off every 4 minutes for 30 minutes from walk to a run. Didnt think I would make it and I did!

Olivia R said...

I want planning on it but my dog decided she wanted to find the perfect place to go this morning to the bathroom. It took 10 minutes to walk home, mind you I needed to use the bathroom when we left!

Audra Weathers said...

I've been working my way back up to running 3-4 miles on my treadmill. Music is a BIG help. I slacked off over the winter months and now I'm only able to run 1 mile at a time, but I know soon if I continue I'll be back to where I was.
