Synopsis:

Heather recently left an abusive relationship and is looking to start anew with something she can call her own. She's always wanted to open her own business focusing on catering while bringing a metaphysical twist, so along with her relator friend Joyce, she's looking for the perfect place to bring her dreams into reality.

That's when she stumbles upon Thorne Manor and is instantly taken with it's vastness, beauty and haunting past.

Regardless of what people tell her, Heather knows in her bones that this house is meant for her and she'll stop at nothing to get it, even if it means ignoring people's warnings about the house's sinister past and borrowing money from her abusive ex-husband.

With the renovation of Thorne Manor underway, weird and bizarre things start happening; people are being pushed by unseen things, voices are being heard, a sense of foreboding felt every time someone nears the 3rd floor apartment...

Will Heather and all the gifted friends and renters she's gathered be able to rid this house of it's negative aura before Heather's dreams of independence slip past her reach?

My Thoughts:

Thorne Manor and Other Bizarre Tales encompasses several paranormal and metaphysical stories within its pages from renovating a mansion with an unsavory past to crossing paths with unnatural creatures to first time run ins with witchcraft.

I've always been interested in the paranormal and metaphysical aspects of life, so this book was definitely a treat to read, especially from someone who grasps those concepts quite fully in their life. It's most definitely a pleasure learning from those who are quite knowledgeable on a particular subject!

While the stories are pretty straightforward, if you look deeper, you can find a whole lot of meaning behind each and every one, which is something that I'm all about! I love stories that hint at a deeper understanding of the universe and the human condition.

This book contains Thorne Manor which is the longest story and several short stories after that which I really enjoyed! I don't normally get into short stories because it takes me a bit of time to get involved with a book to begin with, so to have something start and end quickly is difficult for me, which is probably why it took me so long to get through this book. That being said however, I enjoyed every story in here, long and short alike!

I can't say this book would be enjoyed by everyone, especially those a little shy towards things like witch craft, paranormal entities and demons, but if you're willing to give it a try, it's truly a wonderful book to read!
