As some of you may or may not know, I've been trying to save up for a new television for a little while now due to the fact that my old one, which I got on my 15th birthday and is in fact almost 8 years old, started going on me.
First it was the picture; got duller in sharpness and color, had lines running through the screen and started to flicker. Then it was the VCR (it was a TV/DVD/VCR combo) broke out of nowhere, which made me sad because I liked taping things.

Thankfully it didn't COMPLETELY crap out on me, which gave me plenty of time to start saving up, which I found to be quite easy because I just kept winning gift cards! When I hit $220, I was ready to look around.
Low and behold, I didn't have to look far!
While out with the BF, we stopped at Walmart and decided to check out the televisions, just to see what they had. It was there that I found 'The One.'
With some more running around (or shall I say driving), figuring if things were in stock, and deciding on what else I needed, I
Now, I'm NOT that kind of person that just buys something on a whim; I like to research, compare, and bide my time with big purchases like this. That being said, I tend to OVERresearch, OVERcompare, and OVERbide my time to the point where I just don't want anything anymore, which is why I just went for it for a change.

Along with the television, I bought an inexpensive DVD player and some cables which enable me to hook up my computer to the television and play movies and things through there. How awesome is that!
Aside from the DVD player and cables, how much do you think came out of my pocket for the $260 sum television?
A whopping $40!
Of course having a boyfriend who works at Walmart and gets a discount helped considerably, too ;) Speaking of which, I got an early birthday gift from my sweetie...
He knows me so well! Another Miyazaki film added to the collection ^.^
