Fitness is a hard thing to keep up with when you're chronically ill; especially when chronic joint, muscle and nerve pain are a big issue in your day to day life.
I still haven't managed to find the balance between illness and fitness quite yet, but when I'm well, I indeed HAVE found my motivation to keep healthy and fit! Those who feel that working out is a chore, listen up...
The secret really isn't much of a secret at all. All you need to do is find something that you're passionate about and love doing, which is motivation enough in my opinion. If you're doing something you love that just happens to be physically active, you won't notice you're actually working out, the time will go much quicker, and you'll reach your goals before you know it.
I'm by nature an exercise lover, but once I came across pole dancing, I had found my true passion! The classes went by so fast that I started going two to three times a week just because I loved it so much and it was a challenging workout. I didn't view it as just a workout though; it was pure FUN.
What motivates you to keep your personal fitness goals?
