Moriarty's Gem Art *Review*

Being a self taught-jewelry designer, and a self-taught, student-in-college jewelry designer at that, my money (or what little I have) is spent at thrift stores and garage sales on pieces that I see potential in; ones that I can upcycle and use for parts.

THAT'S where most of my supplies come from-I definitely can't afford anything too fancy or expensive, such as that you would find in rare and semi-precious gemstone jewelry.

When I came across the opportunity to do a review for Moriarty's Gem Art, I was beyond thrilled because it game me a little taste of the 'fancy' jewelry maker's life!

Before I reveal the little gem (pun intended) of a product I received, here is a little background on the company itself:

"Our goal at is to provide unique custom fine jewelry, often one of a kind styles, created from precision cut colored gems and ideal cut diamonds. We have been wholesale gem dealers since 1975 dealing in rare gems in which we take great pride in the quality of our cutting which is done in our shop here in Crown Point, Indiana. We have deleted the middle men from the supply chain in order to give you the highest quality gems and precious metals available at the lowest possible price."

Out of the possible choices I was given, I opted for the Green Quartz: Checkerboard Cut, 2.60ct Average loose gemstone.

As I said above, I'm not too familiar with rare or semi-precious gems when it comes to my jewelry making, but I'm an avid lover of gemstones and their metaphysical properties.

Green quartz is said to open and stabilize your heart chakra, transform negative energies into positive ones, and it also works to inspire creativity.

I was extremely impressed with the quality of the stone I received-I loved the checkerboard cut and the flawless look of the quartz. When they say they take great pride in the quality of their cutting, I can see exactly what they're referring to!

Aside from the loose gems offered, also offers uniquely designed finished products such as Custom Mothers Rings. It's quite the flawless site, too. You can tell from it's sleek design and ease of navigation that they definitely offer quality and cater to their customers.

This gemstone is definitely going to be incorporated in my jewelry somehow, even if I have to wait a little while to figure out exactly how-It'll come to me when the time is right :)

**Disclaimer:: I was provided the loose Green Quartz Checkerboard Cut gemstone in exchange for the above review from Moriarty's Gem Art. All opinions in the above post are 100% mine and mine alone unless otherwise stated**
