Featured Blogger Friday(11/4)-Cathy Kennedy's Blog

It's been awhile since I've done a Featured Blogger Friday post, but I'm back with the perfect person and blogger to introduce to everyone! :)

I recently connected with Cathy through a shared Monday meme (Music Moves Me Monday) we both do and I'm happy to have helped her out with a few things along the way of our recently-founded friendship.

Welcome Cathy of Cathy Kennedy's Blog!

Q. What’s your name and blog? What other information would you like to share?

Q. Why did you choose that name for your blog?

I wanted to use my name, but nothing catchy came to mind. Thus, the simplistic title was born.

Q. Why did you start blogging?

In 2009, I had my first children's story in the hands of a publisher and I knew it was up to me to make my presence a little more exposed. Publicity and market is my responsibility. After searching the net, I learned blogging was one way to establish connections. In June 2010, I kicked off Cathy Kennedy's Blog.

Q. What kind of stuff do you cover with your blog? Is there a specific genre you write about or is the sky the limit?

I use my blog as a platform to write whatever inspires me. A thing that I’m passionate about is health/fitness. We have one life - one body. It's up to each of us to make the most of it. As I grow older, I realize immortality doesn't apply, at least not in this life. However, what we make of it determines how we spend those last years in this world. I like to think of myself as the girl next door. You know, you're buddy, someone to share things with and for me to share with you. Occasionally, I will provide personal reviews on things we have bought - movies, foods, gadgets, etc. Or, whenever I stumble upon things interest for example a great deal or give-away then I want to give my audience the heads up on the news. After all, isn't that what friends do for each other?

Q. What is one must read post that you have written {Include Link}?

I don't have a specific link, I'd like to recommend. However, if you have the time then you may wish to look at my archives from Jan 18, 2011 through Feb 18, 2011. I did a Get To Know Me blog series challenge for 30-days. In that time frame you'll find nearly 30 posts. Something when astray and I didn't get to finish it. However, you can learn much about me in these posts. One thing I learned later on is I didn't know much about labels for my posts. Perhaps over time I can get this squared out and it'll make searching for such posts easier. =D

Q. Name one thing you love about your blogging job.

One thing I love about blogging is the ability to pull a post out of thin air. I see memes as a challenge, especially those that ask questions. I'm drawn to those the most. For me, it's a way to exercise my imagination and brain power. Most of the last 23 years has been spend tending to my children and what they need. I didn't have the time or energy to stretch my creative thinking, like I craved. This is changing the more and more involved I become with my blog. This has been a real blast for me!

Q. Name one thing you’re not quite fond of about your blogging job.

One thing which bothers me most about blogging is how much time consumption there is spent on my blog. Sometimes, I get so absorbed in writing my posts or visiting blogs that the morning has slipped away before I know what has happened. I wish I could be a little more efficient with my time spent in Blogosphere.

Q. What’s one random fact about you?

I consider myself a morning person. I find I’m the most productive early in the day, but I usually spend too much time on the computer during those hours, too. The result is I have to hustle the rest of the day to get all of my to-dos accomplished. That’s not an easy thing to do, either!

Q. Inspiration comes in many forms for different people. What inspires you?

You said it, it comes in different  forms. Sometimes, I’ll see a post or hear something on TV or read an email or remember an event from there I run with the inspiration.

Q. Where else can we find you(Personal Website, Etsy Shop, Twitter, Facebook, Etc.)?

Naturally, my blog is open for any and all to come visit me time-and-time again (http://cathykennedystories.blogspot.com). I just love seeing repeaters stop by.  You can take a look at my website I created solely for selling my children’s book. Feel free to jump over to take a look for yourself at www.cathykennedystories.com. Like everyone else, I have a Twitter, look for me @greeneyestale. I’m still trying to figure this one out. I’m not very active with Twitter, but nonetheless I have an account. My FB fan page is, www.facebook.com/greeneyestale and I also have a personal Facebook page, too,  www.facebook.com/cathkennedy. No, this isn’t a typo.  The ‘y’ in Cathy is missing. Well, it is typo. I goofed, but there isn’t anything I can do about it. I can’t get it changed because of FB’s restrictions on changing this only one time. So, I’m stuck with the typo. lol
