Alas, I'm Pictureless...

I write these words with a tear in my eye and a heavy heart-my beloved digital camera took it's last picture and is no more...

*hangs head in grief*

Granted, it did have an unfortunate face-to-face meeting with the wooden back deck when I was taking pictures of my jewelry the other day, but aside from that, I sensed it was on it's last leg awhile ago.

My parents got me my wonderful silver colored point-and-shoot Sony Cybershot DSC-W50 right before I turned 17 years old (my golden birthday to be exact)-It was my FIRST digital camera, and I remember it like it was yesterday! That being my golden birthday and all, I had a big party planned and the night before my parents took me aside and said that they figured I could use my present early for the party the next day.

I was so excited!

This camera has lasted me through quite a lot of experiences in the past 4 years (seriously, 4 years is like 100 in technology speak!). It had a good, long life and as a tribute, I would like to share some of the pictures it took along the way.

The mourning process can't last forever-Any advice or recommendations for a new camera!?

Ugh, there's nothing worse than losing a camera. Well, actually there are worse things but if I broke mine it would devastate me. I'm a sucker for Nikon DSLR cameras.

It's a sad day when you watch a beloved friend pass on. At least you have a lot of memories. Four years IS a long time, chances are that you can now get something half the size with twice the capacity... that'll do the dishes for you too. I use my iphone but I wouldn't call that a solid picture taking device.

Awww that's sad! I had a Canon for several years and was so sad when it broke, but now I love my Polaroid i830 - way smaller and more powerful, I just (today) purchased a new lens for it to tale macro shoots. But even without this lens, it did a good job after playing with the settings a little. Maybe look for some hot deals on Amazon or OverStock? I hope you get a new one soon!

Oh my gosh! That's the exact same one that I killed when I spilled my milk this past Spring. My hubby got me a Sony Cybershot, and I love it, and I will probably love it even more when I learn how to use it! Hope you can get one soon baby girl! Keep an eye out for sales at Best Buy or maybe even Sams Club.

OH, you poor thing... I feel so sorry for you. I just discovered something wrong with my lens for my Nikon D90 and I am totally bummed. I can still use it for a little while longer while I save to replace it.
Love your collection of photos showing you, your friends and your lovely family.
Good luck finding a new one.
