Rebuilding and Restoring-A Plea for Prayers

My friend Michelle over at Flying Giggles and Lollipops wrote a post last week that I simply cannot ignore-As I read through it, it clutched at my heart and squeezed.

It squeezed so tight that I couldn't think of anything other then how I could help!

Apparently, the church that Michelle grew up in and loved unconditionally burned down completely to the ground. As if that wasn't devastating enough, everyone later was told that it was a DELIBERATE act-An act of arson.

Like I told Michelle in my comment, who would be so selfish, mean, and heartless to do something like burning down a church!? A place of worship. A place of love. A place of family, friends, and togetherness.

How can a person knowingly take a home away from hundreds and/or thousands of people? I surely hope it was a complete and tragic accident because I just don't want to believe there is someone out there deliberately going around burning down churches and breaking people's hearts!

Michelle responded to my comment right away telling me that the church was going to be rebuilt (they are actually in the process now), and that they are holding services outside for right now until they can find a suitable place-How amazing is that?!

A fundraiser is also going on to help build a new church-If you'd like to help, support the cause, or just follow their progress, you can like their page on Facebook, follow them on Twitter, and if you are so inclined, maybe even donate a little something on their personal website, RebuildSJV.com.

That is awful. I'm glad everyone was safe.

The church is in our hearts and that, they cannot burn.

Thanks for sharing this.

how terrible! I also hope that it was an accident, what a terrible thing for someone to deliberately do. Thanks for sharing I'll take a visit.

wow that sounds....cruel! But the best thing they can do is keep going and rebuilt bigger and stronger than before. IF someone did it in purpose, the better way to annoy them is to do so.

I read about this post on her blog and it broke my heart as well. My prayers to out to that church, that it may be stronger and more faith-filled than ever.

Thank you so much for posting about this - I truly appreciate it! I have a feeling we will rebuild a lot quicker than imagined because everyone has pulled together.

I just got your email, it was my daughter's birthday and I have taken some time off.

Thanks again!
