Featured Blogger Friday:: The Lingerie Addict

As if being in a magnificent city and learning more about blogging wasn't enough, I met a TON of incredible woman when I was in New York-One of my regrets is that I didn't have time to meet more of the 2,200+ people there.

The people I did get the immense privilege to meet just blew my mind. They are successful, strong-willed, and admirable human beings and I want to share them with everyone!

So, let me introduce to you the beautiful
Treacle of The Lingerie Addict-I absolutely love her site and I hope this interview shows you exactly why :)

Enjoy!

Q. What’s your name and blog? What other information would you like to share?

My name is Treacle, and I write the blog, The Lingerie Addict. I started blogging as a casual hobby in April 2008, and I haven't been able to stop!

Q. Why did you choose that name for your blog?

The Lingerie Addict actually isn't the first name my blog has had. I started writing as "Stockings Addict" because I was obsessed with tights and hosiery, and couldn't find any other blogs focusing on that subject. When my interests grew bigger, I renamed the blog to "Stockings and Lingerie Blog," but that was unwieldy and awkward. After playing around with names, I stumbled upon The Lingerie Addict, and it just "fit."

Q. Why did you start blogging?

I started blogging because I noticed there weren't many websites dedicated to talking about lingerie from a consumer's perspective. I don't really care about press reviews (which, unfortunately, is what many fashion bloggers cover). What I care about is how things fit and how they look and how much they cost and if they're worth the money. So I started blogging to fill that gap.

Q. What kind of stuff do you cover with your blog? Is there a specific genre you write about or is the sky the limit?

My blog's focus is lingerie. I offer tips, tricks, advice, reviews, and really pretty photographs for people who love lingerie or just want to know more about it. Lingerie is still a very taboo subject in American culture, and one of the things I'm trying to do is show how lingerie just like any other type of fashion.

Q. What is one must read post that you have written {Include Link}?

Oh gosh...is it okay if I include two? 10 Pieces of Lingerie Every Woman Must Own and The 7 Deadly Lingerie Sins. Between them, they sum up almost everything you need to know about the subject.

Q. Name one thing you love about your blogging job.

The thing I love most of all is helping people find the lingerie that's right for them. So many women believe that lingerie has to be ugly or uncomfortable or that they'll never be able to find nice things in their size. And it is such a good feeling when someone writes me to say that I've not only helped them discover the perfect lingerie, I've also helped them feel better about themselves.

Q. Name one thing you’re not quite fond of about your blogging job.

Hmmm...one of things that's started happening as I get more popular is that I get more nasty messages from people. I know that's just part of the deal, but it still doesn't feel too hot. Still...it's a good sign, right? When people hate you for no good reason, you know that you've arrived. ;)

Q. What’s one random fact about you?

I'm a former Brazilian Jiu Jitsu champion.

Q. Inspiration comes in many forms for different people. What inspires you?

My readers inspire me. I get so many great ideas from them, and I always try to make sure that whatever I write about positively impacts them in some way.

Q. Where else can we find you(Personal Website, Etsy Shop, Twitter, Facebook, Etc.)?

You can find me on my blog, The Lingerie Addict, on Twitter @stockingsaddict, on Facebook at The Lingerie Addict, and on YouTube at The Lingerie Addict. If you're interested in a personal shopping (i.e. "Lingerie Therapy") session, you can find the info for that here.
