Vacation from my Vacation

So, now I kind of know why it's been almost 2 years since we have traveled up north for a weekend vacation...

The car trip kills.

Although we all generally had a good time, it wasn't the ideal vacation I had in mind when packing to go up-I had envisioned a weekend of relaxation, family and maybe a little ice fishing if I was so lucky...I only got 1 out of the 3.

As soon as we got up there and unpacked, I got sick; And before you ask, not cold or flu sick, but Lymie sick. My whole body was wracked with pain, I had issues walking, my head hurt-Shall I go on?

My visions of catching Lucy(the fish that got away) were dashed since I couldn't go down the steep hill to get to the lake everyone was fishing on. There were snow mobiles, but even if I could get ready and be driven down to the lake, my pain was to immense to even consider it.

Despite everything, It was nice to visit with family we haven't seen in awhile-Especially our little 3 year old cousin(who was ADORABLE) and his mum who is Very pregnant and is due on the 25th of January.

Sigh.

Now that I'm back home, I need a vacation to get over my vacation >.<

I think I'm going to take a few days off to catch up on my emails and posts-Oh, and of course my health! I'm starting something new in my treatment and it's expected to set me back so we'll see how that goes.

I'll be around so I won't be totally unreachable!

Hey Kayla,
Yup...the car rides kill me too. We took a vacation NOrth (will be 2 years in August just before the RELAPSE from H3ll). It was so hard on me even then, when I was not NEAR this bad, but i am so happy we went...the kids say this was the BEST time they ever had and that was better than even Disney 5 years ago. I was shocked to hear that! It was all family time and fishing, playing cards and cooking out on the grill every night. (BUT, it was a nightmare to pack and ride and undo it all when you get home.) TRUE that...you need a VACATION after a vacation!

I had not been out of the HOUSE since New Year's Eve and dodging all chances bc it is so hard on me the next few days after. BUT, I realized the other night i have to MAKE myself do it...the FEAR of the consequences is ruining my life. I went to my sisters and all four girls had a slumber party with my mom. I relaxed and lay by her fireplace til wee hours of the night reading and relaxing alone, while the others slept. I figured I could just as well lay at her house as to lay at home. It was SO nice to be with my "other" family and I will always remember this, just as you will remember good points too of your vacay, even if it wasnt perfect.
I could never do ice fishing now...the cold would kill me!!! But so cool you are an Outdoor girl...I am the only one of many that likes this stuff! VERY cool Kayla!

Hope your new "treats" work out for you. I am still going slow here. Waiting for spring!!! Probably the best medicine for a lot of us right now!

Came over from Midday Escapes and love your page..I hate that you had a rough vacation. The pain issue reminds me a lot of fibromyalgia in a way. Comes out of nowhere and the smallest thing can trigger it.. now following you have a blessed day.

Sorry to hear all this Kayla!!!
I hate car trips too, they makes me nauseous, If I drive my back is going to kill me and if I eat or try any other activity to kill time, my stomach gets really upset...sigh!!!
I feel you!

Hope the new treatment will do good, keep us update!!

I'm sorry to hear you're not feeling well. I've had a few vacations like that where I needed another one to recover from the first one.

It took me about a week to get back in the swing of things after our vacation. You'll catch up just fine. :) Take it easy on yourself!

P.S. I'm your newest follower. :)

Don't you hate those kind of vacations, where you get sick and need a vacation to recover? That happened to us over the summer, when my son got an ear infection during a long weekend at the beach. It sucked not being able to do anything, or even get him into the water.

Hopefully your next one works out better.
