I'm by no means a homey person-I can make myself a bowl of cereal and if I'm feeling very inventive, a sandwich, but usually my mum does all the cooking in the household.

Lately, I've been noticing my mum having a rough time when it comes to the household and the people in it-My sister comes home every weekend from college and has my mum chauffeur her places because she 'needs this' or 'wants that.' As for my dad, I love him dearly but he does nothing to help out my mum what-so-ever. In fact, he makes it even more difficult for her with his absent-mindedness and me, me, me complex.

So seeing her in overwhelm, I feel really bad! I've been trying to help out more, so cooking-wise, I've learned how to make grilled cheese and little mini pizzas, but that's still a little iffy depending on the day.

Feeling very ambitious, I decided to try to make an organic pumpkin pie from scratch-I mean heck, I already had the pumpkin that was just going to go to waste if I didn't do anything with it(lovingly named Francis) and I figured I would do something I've never done before. I found a recipe online for an organic pumpkin pie and was ready and raring to go!

It took a span of 2 days, but I got everything bought, mixed, pureed, and cooked. Seriously though, as I made this pie, I was waiting for an EPIC.FAIL because:

  1. I've never made anything like this before, let alone from scratch.
  2. Since I hadn't made anything like this before, every step of the pie making process looked funky.

Instead of Epic Fail, I got Epic Success! Although the crust was a little funky...Look at that beautiful piece of edible art below:

This is an ORGANIC pumpkin pie made from SCRATCH with only the best ingredients(although I would have liked to grow the pumpkin myself)!

Here is the Recipe if you would like to give it a try :)

Pie anyone!?

P.s. I'm V.E.R.Y proud of myself!
